for those who have officially been tested, what are your experiences? My shrink started asking me the normal teenager stuff (the subject matter of one questionare- "I see things that no one else sees" (which i said yes to because i occaisionally see ghosts- that may or may not have been good) "I drink alcoholic beverages", yadda yadda yadda. She even went as far as to suggest an attention deficit thingie! I was only there for dycalculia testing! hmmm.

Wow, seeing ghosts is… something! I wouldn’t know if what you saw was real or not, but I do know that the shrink was right when it worried him/her – it’s not normal. So keep an eye on yourself in that area, and figure out what’s going on there, huh. In Denmark most people drink from age 12 and up, we don’t see it as a problem here (I’m not sure if that is good or not). But if you drink often (and more than 14 drinks a week), you should think about why… Maybe you could have an attention deficit disorder, who knows! I think it is good that the shrink actually thought of that. ADD almost always has company with learning disabilities. But, that is another test, so i do understand why it bothered you. But what about being tested for ADD now, then? Just to find out if you have it or not. My own experience with being tested was ok, until i joined the dyscalculia association and found out that the same shrink is in this business for the money and has done some really stupid things when he helped the association for a while. And, most importantly, that the test he uses is bad (it’s the WISC III). I can understand the last part because there is no better in Denmark right now, but he didn’t even tell me that is was not really that good but gladly took my money. The worst thing is, that he is the only one in Denmark who’s testing for dyscalculia

I thought it was wierd. it seems that nowadays an attention deifcit of any sort is a cure-all for any problem.
